A Benton girl died after colliding with a vehicle in Rome on Friday afternoon.
Sophia Hayes, 18, was riding a motorcycle on Watson Pond Road around 1 p.m. when she collided with another vehicle, according to the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.
Hayes suffered severe injuries. She was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where she later died.
No charges are pending at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
