A worker died Monday after he was hit by a front-end loader at a worksite in Dayton.
Cory Maddox, 43, of East Waterboro was walking across the yard of Dayton Sand and Gravel about 12:03 p.m. when he was hit by the bucket of a front-end loader operated by another worker, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Efforts to revive Maddox were unsuccessful, Moss said Wednesday.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death.
Moss said there’s no sign of criminal activity.
Dayton is northwest of Biddeford.
