Send your letters to [email protected] I’m writing to encourage Bangor residents to re-elect Amy Roeder to the Maine State House because she’s exactly what Bangor deserves: down-to-earth, accessible, and responsive representation for our issues. Rep. Roeder has a proven record of standing up for workers, housing, education, and public health. As chair of the Labor and Housing Committee, she has been at the forefront of addressing key issues that impact our community. She cosponsored LD 226, a bill to address Maine’s affordable housing crisis, as well as LD 348, which ensures that menstrual products are available in schools at no cost, directly supporting students’ health and dignity. Rep. Roeder also pushed for protections for workers, including LD 513, which strengthens overtime protections for salaried employees, and LD 931, which would expand Maine’s workforce by supporting workforce transitions for individuals leaving incarceration. Her commitment to the people of Bangor is clear in everything she does. If you’ve ever attended an event where Amy is present, it’s not uncommon to see her step away to take a call from a constituent — she prides herself on being accessible to everyone she serves. Her values and work ethic have earned her respect not only in our community but also in Augusta. For these reasons and more, I strongly support Amy Roeder for state representative in District 23. Bangor needs her now more than ever. Michael Beck
