A vehicle struck a flagger controlling traffic on Route 1 in Orland on Tuesday morning.
A dispatcher with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the worker was struck, but no other details were available Tuesday morning. The sheriff’s department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The highway was closed Tuesday morning while sheriff’s deputies and other first responders were on the scene. It was reopened again at around 9:30 a.m., the Orland Fire Department posted on Facebook.
A spokesperson for the Maine Department of Transportation did not immediately respond to a request for information.
