A New Jersey man died Monday evening after he hit a moose while riding a motorcycle on Interstate 95.
Anand Sreedharan, 50, of Princeton, New Jersey, was riding a motorcycle south on I-95, near mile marker 240, in T2 R9 about 7 p.m. when a moose crossed the highway, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Sreedharan hit the moose and was thrown from the motorcycle, Moss said Wednesday.
He died from his injuries.
The moose also died.
The crash remains under investigation.
