AUGUSTA – The Maine Maple Producers Association will host the fifth annual Maine Maple Fall Fest on Oct. 12-13. This year’s festival promises an array of experiences across more than 25 sugarhouses statewide. Some will offer sugarbush tours, and presentations on how maple syrup is made, and there is always a wide variety of maple syrup-enhanced goodies for sale including fresh maple donuts, maple syrup, maple candies, and maple kettle popcorn.
“Fall is made a bit sweeter with our maple syrup,” said Alan Greene, vice president of the MMPA. “Maine Maple Fall Fest attracts friends and visitors from around the world to see our fall foliage and enjoy one of Maine’s premier products. Although we are not making syrup in the fall, we still have a lot for everyone to enjoy.”
Greene added that the festival is a good time to stock up on maple syrup for winter cooking and holiday gifts. While producers don’t tap trees or boil sap in autumn, the state’s producers make more than 575,000 gallons of syrup annually and family-run farm stores offer a full selection of Maine maple goods.

The MMPA, representing over half of Maine’s licensed maple producers, ensures that every bottle of maple syrup meets the high standards synonymous with Maine’s reputation for quality. The association encourages consumers to look for the Pure Maine Maple label.
The Maine Maple Producers Association (www.mainemapleproducers.com) is a membership-based nonprofit that represents the state’s growing maple industry. It hosts Maine Maple Sunday®, an event that attracts thousands of visitors annually to sugar houses throughout the state.
