There’s been a rash of thefts of political signs for the presidential campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris in Camden, according to the PenBay Pilot.
Camden Police Chief Randy Gagne confirmed the thefts to the paper, noting that they have happened “all over town.” The total number of reported thefts was not available.
Theft of campaign signs is common during elections, especially presidential races, Gagne added. But, it can be notable when a large number of them go missing in one place.
In Camden, many of the thefts happened along Harden Avenue, with signs removed and just the metal frames left behind in the grass, according to the PenBay Pilot. Some signs were also stolen from other streets, including Barnestown Road and Central Avenue.
No signs for other campaigns were stolen, and no suspects have been identified, the paper reported.
