State Sen. Mike Tipping is invested in our district. He is committed to improving our lives by protecting us from things like predatory lending for medical debt, cleaning up the Penobscot River and pushing back on those who only seek influence so they can manipulate legislation for personal gain.
Tipping is a rarity in politics. He is honest, humble and approachable. I have attended two public meetings with Tipping where he asks us what issues are important. What a concept! The last meeting ended with Tipping saying he had to be on time to put his kids to bed.
The lives of his family are very important to Tipping, and he does more than give lip service to improving education, health care, housing and workers’ rights so his, and our, children grow up in a place they can thrive in and be proud of.
I don’t agree with everything Tipping supports; I don’t agree with anyone on everything. But I know that Tipping will have my back and that he quietly, without any fanfare, pushes on to make our district, and our state, better.
I wish more politicians were like Mike Tipping. Our state, and country, would be better off.
