A man was transported to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center on Friday after receiving stab wounds, according to the Maine State Police.
Officials with the Maine State Police and Somerset County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence at 482 Madawaska Road in Palmyra just before 3 a.m. on Friday morning. When they arrived officials discovered a man, who is not being identified at this time, had been seriously injured.
He was transported to the Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield, but was later transported to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. As of Friday afternoon, he remains in critical condition.
Madawaska Road was reopened around 10:35 a.m., the Pittsfield Police Department said Friday.
The circumstances of the stabbing are under investigation, and officials have said they do not believe there is any danger to the public.
