Country star Brantley Gilbert had what he termed “the craziest night of my life” on Friday, October 11, when his wife, Amber, went into labor during his concert and delivered a baby on the tour bus out in the parking lot.
Gilbert, who was playing a show in Tupelo, Mississippi, that evening, posted footage to Instagram of the moment he was pulled off stage for a backstage emergency shortly after his set began. He then shared video of himself calling his mom, who asked how he was doing.
“Not as good as you’re about to be,” Gilbert, 39, replied. “You got a new grandbaby!”
When his surprised mother then asked, “How’s Amber?” Gilbert said, “She’s a freaking savage!”
The singer then went back out to finish his set, giving a triumphant announcement to the crowd: “We got a baby in Mississippi!”
As the audience screamed in approval, fan-shot video shared on TikTok showed a visibly emotional Gilbert being hugged by his band and crew members. At one point, he seemed overcome, bending over momentarily and wiping his eyes.
Returning to the mic, he resumed with a lighthearted comment. “I reckon, if Elvis was born here …” he quipped, referring to the fact that the King was also born in Tupelo.

Gilbert’s Instagram post also shared photos of his wife and a peek at the new arrival, a baby boy who joins older siblings Barrett and Braylen.
“So last night might have been the craziest night of my life. Watching such an amazing woman do such an amazing thing is something I’ll never forget,” he wrote. “Thank you to our road family for rallying around us, Brittany Thornton for helping us bring this little dude into the world, Tupelo, Mississippi for showing us mad love and support, and most of all… Amber Gilbert, for letting me love you and showing me EXACTLY how incredibly strong a woman can be. I love you.”

The couple, who married in 2015, announced their third pregnancy on May 12 of this year. “How’s this for a Mother’s Day?” Gilbert captioned an Instagram post showing the two embracing on a beach and holding up a sonogram photo. The post garnered a rush of congratulations, including well-wishes from famous friends such as Brittany Aldean, Bunnie XO, Colt Ford and others.
Gilbert released his seventh studio album Tattoos last month. He’s currently in the midst of his Off The Rails tour, which is scheduled for three more dates in October.
