An 84-year-old Maine man died on Sunday morning after a rollover crash in Gray.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and Gray Fire and Rescue were called to the crash site on Yarmouth Road at around 1:06 p.m., according to Lt. Joseph Dyar of the Cumberland sheriff’s department.
An initial investigation shows that the driver, Arnold Harmon of Gray, apparently lost control of his 2024 Ford Mustang before leaving the road. The vehicle then rolled onto its roof, trapping Harmon inside.
Harmon was extricated from the vehicle, but had suffered fatal injuries in the crash and died at the scene. Harmon had been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Officials currently believe the crash may have been caused by speed, and a possible medical event.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
