Taylor Swift is a proud football fan now, and she couldn’t resist slipping certain aspects of that into her Eras Tour choreography while performing in New Orleans.
For the second time in a row, Swift, 34, added a football-adjacent move to her “Midnight Rain” performance. On Saturday, October 26, the pop star raised her hands up in the air — mimicking a field goal shape — and mouthed “Touchdown” while singing, “He never thinks of me / except when I’m on TV.”
The night before, Swift pretended to throw a football pass during the same improvised section. Throughout her Eras Tour, Swift switches up her moves during the Midnights dance break, sometimes pretending to do archery, making a heart with her hands or sticking out her tongue while striking a silly pose.
Coincidentally, Swift’s first two New Orleans shows — held at Caesars Superdome, which will be the site of the 2025 Super Bowl — fell just ahead of Sunday, October 27’s National Tight End Day. Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, famously plays tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Swift notably became a fan of football in 2023 after she and Kelce, 35, started dating.
“Football is awesome, it turns out,” Swift gushed in her 2023 TIME Person of the Year profile. “I’ve been missing out my whole life.”
As Swift and Kelce grew closer, she became a fixture at his home and away Chiefs games. Swift notably attended February’s Super Bowl LVIII, kissing Kelce on the field after the Chiefs won their second consecutive championship.

“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift added to TIME. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
Not only does Swift make sure to cheer on the Chiefs — dressed in chic team merch, naturally — but she also learned the game rules with ease before designing her own plays.

“I think what makes her so good at her profession is that she’s so detailed in every aspect of it — from the words to the music to, you know, even the releases and the music videos and everything,” Kelce said on The Rich Eisen Show last month. “She’s so detailed and a part of it that I think she was just curious about the profession.”
He added, “She’s a little biased and just creates plays for me, so we’ll see if they can make it to Coach [Andy] Reid’s office.”
Kelce, however, wasn’t able to attend Swift’s concerts in Louisiana as he has a Chiefs game at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on Sunday. Another special guest did make it to Saturday’s show: Sabrina Carpenter. The 25-year-old former Eras Tour opener performed a mashup of her songs “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” with the 14-time Grammy winner along with Swift’s “Is It Over Now?” during the acoustic section. Moments later, Swift sang another medley of “Hits Different” and “Welcome to New York.”
