A Maine state representative turned himself in after having an active arrest warrant over the weekend.
Republican Rep. Lucas Lanigan of Sanford turned himself in at the York County Jail at 11 p.m. Sunday. He said he was away on a business trip this weekend.
Police have been looking for Lanigan following an incident that occurred Friday. He is accused of aggravated assault.
Lanigan is currently running for reelection against Democrat Patricia Kidder.
