Police have arrested and charged two people in connection with the Sept. 27 shooting death of 46-year-old Gene Dares in Biddeford.
Maine State Police and Biddeford police arrested Garret Labonte, 45, and Linda Lambert, 57, both of Biddeford, without incident at about 9 p.m. on Monday, at 63 South St. in Biddeford, Maine State Police said in a news release.
Dares was found with gunshot wounds near 135-137 Foss St. in Biddeford just before 11 p.m. on Sept. 27. He died at the scene. After an autopsy, his death was ruled a homicide.
Labonte is charged with murder, felony murder, and robbery. Lambert is charged with felony murder and robbery, according to state police. Both are being held at York County Jail and are expected to make their first court appearance on Wednesday morning.
