Wendell Pierce is ready to reprise his role as Robert Zane for Suits L.A.
“There’s a new Suits being produced right now, so I’m sure that we will be making cameos on it,” Pierce, 60, said in a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw. “I better be asked to make a cameo on the show because we went on strike because we’re not getting anything from that resurgence.”
Pierce’s comment refers to the most recent actor’s strike, which lasted from July to November last year, where members of the SAG-AFTRA union demanded better wages plus increased residual payments from streaming services, among other asks.
“No, but I would love to make a cameo on the show,” he concluded.

Pierce’s recurring role as attorney Robert Zane (the father to Meghan Markle’s Rachel Zane) started on season 2 in 2013 and lasted throughout the rest of the series’ run. Suits came to an end in 2019 after nine seasons and made a resurgence after going on Netflix in 2023.
“I think it’s the most fascinating thing that all of a sudden, our show got on Netflix and it blew up,” Pierce said during his SiriusXM interview. “We got a text, a chain text, from Gabriel Macht, who’s the lead, and he just sent this text to everyone saying, ‘WTF.’”
Following the newfound success of Suits, it was announced in February that the show would be getting a spinoff series. Stephen Amell is set to star as former New York prosecutor, Ted Black, who is taking his career to Los Angeles to represent some high-profile clients.
“His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career,” the show’s official logline reads. “Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”

Amell, 43, gave fans a first look at himself in character with a July Instagram post after they started filming in Vancouver.
“Ted Black will see you now,” the actor captioned the photo.
Aside from Pierce, some other original Suits cast members have expressed interest in returning for the reboot as well.
“I mean, I think it’s in a world where some characters could in fact come [back],” Macht, 52, told The Hollywood Reporter in February.
