Bangor residents will be able to ride a trolley to the polls on Election Day after a three-year hiatus.
The city’s three new “trolleys” – vehicles in the style of old streetcars – will be providing free rides to polling locations in Bangor, Brewer, Hampden, Old Town, Orono and Veazie.
All Bangor voting will occur at the Cross Center, at 515 Main St. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Brewer residents will cast their ballots at the Joseph L. Ferris Community Center. Hampden’s polling location is at the Skehan Recreation Center.
Veazie residents can go to the town office on Tuesday to vote.
Orono voters will cast their ballots at the UMaine Collins Center for the Arts, and Old Town voters will be able to cast their ballots at the Elks Lodge.
Bangor last had a trolley in 2021, before a crash that November put it permanently out of service.
The Bangor region previously had an extensive electric trolley network for more than 50 years until the service ended in December 1945.
