A Bangor man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly tried to flee from police in a box truck.
Kyle Albert, 37, has been charged with eluding an officer, reckless conduct, driving to endanger, refusal to submit to arrest, possession of a firearm by a felon and violating his conditions of release, according to the Old Town Police Department.
An Old Town police officer tried to pull over Albert about 11:26 p.m. Sunday as he crossed the Stillwater Avenue bridge between College Avenue and Bennoch Road, the department said Monday afternoon.
Albert allegedly hit a guardrail and continued driving toward Interstate 95, where he is accused of leading police on a chase north.
That chase continued until he crashed at exit 197 and fled into the woods. Police tracked him down and arrested him.
Albert remained at the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor on Tuesday morning, according to the jail’s online inmate roster.
