Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet Tour is taking a little break, but she’ll soon deliver a special holiday treat to her fans.
Carpenter, 25, debuted the official trailer for A Nonsense Christmas at the final U.S. show of her tour in Los Angeles on Monday, November 18.
“Christmas is coming early this year,” the “Espresso” singer teases at the beginning of the clip. “I wouldn’t count on a silent night.”
Later, after debuting a hot pink, Madonna-inspired evening gown in a dance number straight out of the “Material Girl” video, Carpenter deadpans, “Welcome to A Nonsense Christmas. Hope you like surprises.”
The video also reveals that the special will feature duets with Chappell Roan, Tyla, Shania Twain and Kali Uchis as well as appearances by Nico Hiraga, Quinta Brunson, Cara Delevingne, Sean Astin, Kyle Mooney, Megan Stalter, Jillian Bell and Owen Thiele.”
Brunson, 34, drops by in one scene to compliment Carpenter on her signature hairdo. “I love your bangs, they’re cute,” the Emmy winner says.
The Grammy nominee replies, “Thanks, I got them ’cause he ghosted me.”
What Inspires Sabrina Carpenter to Write Her Iconic ‘Nonsense’ Outros
After promising “holiday classics and Sabrina’s holiday hits,” the trailer ends with a cameo by Santa Claus himself, who looks into the mirror as he sings an “Espresso” snippet with the modified lyric, “I’m working late because I’m Santa.”
Carpenter’s holiday special will come amid a break in her Short n’ Sweet Tour, which kicked off in September. After the U.S. leg wrapped up on Monday, the pop star will have a three-month break before the tour resumes in Ireland on March 3, 2025.
Earlier this month, Carpenter celebrated her six Grammy nominations while on the road. She is nominated in all of the “big four” categories — Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year — as well as Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance.
“Us on the tour bus this morning, take a shot every time we scream like fr headphone warning,” Carpenter wrote via Instagram alongside video of her reacting to her nominations. “This is the first year I’ve watched the live stream where i heard my name! I’d be lying if i said i hadn’t dreamt about this day my whole life so i am filled with gratitude — Thank you @recordingacademy.”
A Nonsense Christmas premieres on Netflix Friday, December 6, at 9 p.m. ET.
