Crumbs Provisions, a cafe in downtown Belfast, has announced that it will close next month.
Located at 2 Spring St., the breakfast and brunch spot announced the closure on Facebook. Its last day of operation will be Dec. 15.
The closure comes on top of many others that have hit Maine’s restaurant industry in the last few months, which some owners have attributed to inflation and staffing challenges that started during the pandemic.
Representatives for Crumbs Provisions did not give a reason for their closure plan and declined to comment on Friday morning.
“We are so thankful for the time we have had here and for all of our wonderful customers & friends,” the business said in its Facebook announcement. “We look forward to our next adventure and hope to see you soon!”
The establishment serves a variety of sweet and savory baked goods as well as sandwiches and quiche, including some gluten- and dairy-free options.
