Police seized about $100,000 worth of cocaine in Lewiston on Tuesday.
Steven Braggs, 36, of Lewiston has been charged with aggravated drug trafficking, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Police on Tuesday did a probation compliance check on Braggs at a hotel. That was part of a 2015 federal sentence for being a felon in possession of a firearm, the MDEA said Wednesday morning.
When drug agents and police contacted Braggs, they found more than three ounces of cocaine in his possession, the MDEA said.
A search of Braggs’ Wellman Street residence turned up more than four pounds of cocaine, trafficking material and $25,300 in suspected drug proceeds, according to the MDEA.
The cocaine was worth an estimated $100,000.
Braggs was being held at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn.
No additional information was immediately available.
