Lindsay Lohan is the reigning queen of Netflix Christmas movies, so it’s only fitting that she should draw style inspiration from real-life royalty.
Such was the case on Tuesday, November 26, when the actress appeared on The View to discuss her newest holiday film, Our Little Secret, which is now available to stream via Netflix.
Lohan, 37, glided out onstage in a white Mugler suit that instantly recalled The Parent Trap‘s Elizabeth James, whose wardrobe is said to have been inspired by the late Princess Diana.

Lest you forget the little white suit that Lohan’s on-screen mum (played by Natasha Richardson) memorably dons for her “accidental” reunion in California with Nick Parker (Dennis Quaid).
Lindsay Lohan Thanks Nancy Meyers for ‘The Parent Trap’
A London-based wedding dress designer, James is the kind of character who exudes chic, effortless style — a fashion formula that Lohan has been adopting during her press tour.
Lohan’s Mugler tailoring is a perfect example and further demonstrated how she shares James’ penchant for separates in tonal colors. According to The Parent Trap director Nancy Meyers, both are paramount to the aesthetic.
“I like to dress my characters simply in classic silhouettes and not in too much color,” Meyers told Condé Nast Traveler in a 2023 interview that looked back at James’ legendary It Brit style.
“I want everything on the screen to last and not date itself.”
On The View, Lohan was the picture of timeless sophistication from her ensemble to her glam, which came courtesy of celebrity makeup artist Ash K. Holm. Her boxy blazer balanced structure with shapeliness, thanks to a nipped waist. In true Mugler fashion, the suit had a tight pencil-skirt fit, but the actress took it in an elegant stride when she greeted the studio audience.
Lindsay Lohan Is In a New Style Era — And We’re Loving It
Considering the silhouette, Lohan was wise to layer the skirt with sheer black tights that were polished and practical. She eschewed accessories save for her signature Briony Raymond New York diamond stud earrings, which gave her investment wardrobe an heirloom-worthy final flourish.
It may not have been a gold locket, but we think a modern-day Elizabeth James would approve.
