A pedestrian was critically injured Wednesday evening when a car hit him in Portland.
The 59-year-old Portland man was crossing Forest Avenue about 6:04 p.m. when he was hit by a car driven by a 52-year-old man, also from Portland, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
The pedestrian was taken to Maine Medical Center, where he was being treated for life-threatening injuries, Nadeau said Thursday morning.
The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed yet.
