As The Eras Tour comes to an end, Taylor Swift is already thinking about what’s next.
Swift, 34, documented the biggest moments of her record-breaking Eras Tour in her official The Eras Tour book, released on Friday, November 29. Alongside never-before-seen photos and information about the show, the Grammy winner hinted at her next career move while paying tribute to her dedicated fans in a heartfelt back cover letter.
“I’ll never forget the call when I explained my idea of the concept for The Eras Tour to my team,” she recalled. “At the time, I was working on the Midnights album and if we were to do what I’ve always done, I would’ve embarked on planning The Midnights Tour. But there’s nothing I hate more than doing what I’ve always done.”
In the six years since she last hit the road with her Reputation Stadium Tour, Swift released four brand-new albums as well as four out of six of her Taylor’s Version rerecorded versions. “And so, the new albums and my re-records left me with the dilemma: HOW on Earth are we going to play all of this music live?” she questioned.
Taylor Swift Cries Thanking Fans and Her Band During Last Toronto Concert
Swift wrote that she “decided to create the longest, most ambitious show I’d ever attempted,” with each show “averaging at 3 hours and 15 minutes, with 45 songs played.”
She continued: “My goal was for every fan to leave that show knowing I gave them absolutely everything I had. I made a promise to myself to be physically and mentally tougher than I ever had been before. To be more disciplined and committed to my health, fitness, and stamina. Thankfully, I’m surrounded by my incredible crew, band, singers, and dancers who all matched my dedication to the massive scale and challenges of this show.”
Since the tour’s launch in March 2023, Swift wrote that she and her crew have played in wild weather, through health issues and even “with a broken heart.” They also pushed through to give fans “an escape from how brutal life can be.”
“It is the honor of a lifetime to be that for them, of only for a night,” Swift added. “And although we are all on our own in this big scary life, somehow it doesn’t feel that way when we’re singing the same words as 80,000 other people wearing glittery face paint. We do it because life comes in waves, in phases, in brilliant flurries of magical moments, and all of these things come together to create … Eras.”

She concluded the note about her “beloved Eras Tour” by hinting at what’s to come. “See you next era … Taylor,” she wrote.
Swift’s signoff could be a hint at a potential 12th album. She released multiple albums throughout The Eras Tour, including Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) in July 2023, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in October 2023 and her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, in April.
Fans have speculated that Swift has been dropping hints about her “next era” in recent months, from wearing a necklace featuring a No. 12 on it during a September outing with Gigi Hadid to wearing plaid during a number of public appearances.
With only three shows left, fans suspect that Swift will wrap up the tour with a major announcement, whether it’s a new album drop or the highly anticipated announcements of her final two rerecorded records, Reputation (Taylor’s Version) and Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version).
Swift will play her final three shows of The Eras Tour in Vancouver on Friday, December 6, through Sunday, December 8.
