Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater are taking a big (and festive) step in their relationship: shopping for a Christmas tree.
A fan spotted the couple searching for the perfect fir in New York City and shared a photo with the duo via Instagram on Friday, November 29.
“They were both super sweet,” the fan wrote in response to a commenter asking what their interaction was like. “I don’t remember much because i was so excited but they were really really nice as i just lovebombed them for about a minute .”
The fan noted that she saw Grande, 31, and Slater, 32, “looking for Christmas trees” during a stroll in NYC’s Upper West Side.
Another eyewitness who spotted the pair during the outing told People on Monday, December 2, that Grande and Slater were “adorable” together as they walked arm in arm through Central Park.
News of Grande and Slater’s romance broke in July 2023 following their respective splits from Dalton Gomez and Lilly Jay. Grande and Gomez finalized their divorce in October 2023, while Slater and Jay finalized theirs in September.
Ariana Grande Says Her ‘Heart Is Happy’ Amid Ethan Slater Romance
That same month, Grande slammed rumors that her romance with Slater began before they’d broken up with their previous partners. “There couldn’t be a less accurate depiction of a human being,” she told Vanity Fair. “No one on this earth tries harder or spreads themselves thinner to be there for the people that he loves and cares about. There is no one on this earth with a better heart.”
In October, Slater gushed over Grande’s performance as Glinda in Wicked, which hit theaters late last month. “I’m just really, really proud of Ari and the work she’s done on this,” he told GQ. “She’s poured herself into it. I’m really proud that I got to be there for that part of it, and I’m really excited to be there for this next step of it when the world gets to see the amazing thing that she did.”
Ariana Grande, Ethan Slater Share Sweet Moment on ‘Wicked’ Red Carpet
After the film’s release, Slater headed to Ariana’s Florida hometown to catch a screening with her brother, Frankie Grande, and her grandma Marjorie Grande, a.k.a. Nonna.
“Flew to boca for a day to watch with Nonna,” the pop star captioned a sweet Instagram Story snap of her and her family sitting together. “At the movie theater I grew up going to every weekend. Cinemark 20 in Boca.”
Slater wasn’t featured in the pic, but Ariana tagged him in the post and gave him photo credit that showed the Grandes looking at the big screen. “Photo by @ethanslater :),” Ariana wrote over the snap, which Slater reposted via his own Instagram Story.
