The man who played Rambo is calling himself a coward for how he once broke up with wife Jennifer Flavin.
Sylvester Stallone met Flavin, 56, in 1988, and the two dated for six years before Stallone, 78, broke it off by sending her a letter via FedEx. The two eventually rekindled their relationship and have been married since 1997.
“That’s the most insincere breakup you can get,” Stallone said while seated next to Flavin in an interview on Fox Nation’s new series Sean with Sean Hannity on Tuesday, December 3.
Stallone called himself a “coward,” adding, “You put it down in words ’cause you don’t have the guts to do it face-to-face.” He also admitted that he believes he avoided the in-person conversation because “a part of me didn’t want to” break up in the first place.

“I mean, I couldn’t live without her,” he said. “She is my everything. My sun and my moon. Everything.”
The breakup came after Stallone had an affair with model Janice Dickinson. Dickinson, now 69, gave birth to daughter Savannah in 1994 and believed Stallone to be the father until a DNA test proved otherwise.
Flavin has previously talked about the now-infamous six-page handwritten letter, which came around the time of Savannah’s birth. She told People at the time that it was “pretty sloppy.”
“I was disappointed,” she said. “You can’t just write somebody off in a letter after six years. It’s not like I was going to try to beg him to come back to me or anything. I just wanted to talk.”
She continued: “It hit me like a ton of bricks. I had no idea this was going to happen. We talked about us having children, about when I was going to get pregnant. We were already picking names, marking down names that he liked and I liked.”

When it turned out the father was actually Dickinson’s boyfriend at the time, Michael Birnbaum, Stallone and Flavin reunited. The couple later welcomed daughters Sophia, 28, Sistine, 26, and Scarlett, 22. Stallone also shares sons Sage and Seargeoh, 44, with ex-wife Sasha Czack. (Sage died of coronary artery disease in 2012 at age 36.)
Stallone and Flavin flirted with a split again in August 2022 when Flavin filed for divorce. The two waffled on the decision until October of that year, when a lawyer for Stallone confirmed to Us Weekly that the divorce case had been dismissed.
“There was a reawakening of what was more valuable than anything, which is my love for my family. It takes precedence over my work, and that was a hard lesson to learn,” Stallone told the Sunday Times after they reconciled. “I didn’t pay enough attention when [my kids] were growing up. I was so career-oriented, and now I go, ‘OK, I don’t have that much runway up ahead, and I want to start asking them about their lives.’”
