A man has been charged with murder and attempted murder after a mother was killed in a hit and run crash.
Alana Armstrong, from Tibshelf, was riding pillion when she was knocked off an e-bike by a 4×4 in Derbyshire last week.
The 25-year-old, who had a six-year-old son, died at the scene of the collision in Batley Lane, Pleasley, at around 8pm on Tuesday 26 November.
A man in his 20s who was riding the e-bike has had part of his leg amputated since the crash, police said.
The force added that Keaton Muldoon, 23, from Mansfield, Nottingham, has been charged after the pair were knocked off the bike.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Following the crash, Chief Superintendent Dave Kirby from Derbyshire Constabulary said: “Alana was just 25 – and a mum to a six-year-old boy. Her little boy, along with her wider family, will never get the chance to see her again, hug her again, spend Christmas together, or celebrate all those milestones.”
