FREEPORT, Maine — One of Maine’s largest and most recognizable businesses is laying off up to 75 people in their second round of layoffs this year.
L.L. Bean announced Friday they will be laying off between 50 and 75 workers, which accounts for up to three percent of their Maine workforce.
A spokesperson for the company says that these layoffs will help “better align company resources with company goals.”
Impacted employees will be given severance.
In April, the company laid off customer service employees and shortened call center hours.
