Brandi Glanville shared that parasites have been the cause of her recent health issue.
“Honestly, I have so many doctors and I’ve had so many tests … I did lab work for $10,000,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 52, said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight published on Tuesday, December 10. “I ran every test under the sun.… They’re like, ‘It could be a parasite.’ That’s, you know, new.”
Glanville explained that before a doctor theorized she potentially contracted a parasite, she experienced “swelling” and was “unable to speak.” When she sought out treatment, some medical professionals thought the issue may have been due to old face fillers that were dissolving. However, Glanville stated that she hadn’t gotten any fillers done in a while and the former had already dissolved.
“I’ve been on meds this whole year. I don’t socialize,” she said to the outlet. “I don’t go out and I’m just spending all of my money on trying to figure out what’s wrong with me.”

Glanville confessed that she’s already spent around “$70,000” on attempting to fix the issue. She added the financial situation has been “stressful” as she’s been unable to work for the past two years due to her ongoing health issues.
While Glanville doesn’t exactly know how she contracted a parasite, she believes it might have happened while she was in Morocco filming The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. (Glanville was accused of sexually harassing Caroline Manzo while they filmed the series in 2023. She has denied the allegations, but the season has yet to air.)
“We had food sitting out for hours on end and some of it was meat. In Morocco,” she claimed to the outlet and explained her symptoms started popping up once she returned home. “Six months after I got back from Morocco, I started having this speaking thing and the swelling up thing, it started in July and we’re still here trying to figure it out.”
According to Glanville, she has a decent idea of where the parasite is living under her face. While she has not seen the organism with her two eyes, she has seen and felt it move. If Glanville “messes with it” it will jump around to a different area and will look like “tiny bubbles bursting” on her skin.
In addition to affecting her face, Glanville shared that the parasite also produces a lot of fluid that her lymph nodes are unable to properly drain.
When it comes to getting treatment, Glanville is open to doing surgery to remove the but her doctors are opting for non-invasive methods first. Glanville confessed she was able to find temporary relief with antibiotics which lasted about “five days.”

“I wanted to quit [the medication] since it was like $2,000 a week,” she reflected. “I did it for six weeks and it’s back.”
Earlier this month, Glanville took to social media to give an update on her health battle. She tweeted a selfie of her swollen face and revealed that doctors believe it may be caused by a parasite.
“What happened? I wish I knew I’ve been in & out of the hospital this passed [sic] year 1/2 spent almost every dollar I have trying to figure it out,” she wrote via X on Saturday, December 7. “Some Dr.’s say I have a parasite that jumps around my face. Some say it’s stress-induced edema. I personally say it’s Bravo.”
