BANGOR — Northern Light Acadia Hospital is pleased to share that Aanchal Sharma, MD has joined the organization to treat patients in its Adult Medication Management program.
Dr. Sharma is a graduate of Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland where she specialized in surgery and obstetrics. Upon receiving her medical degree, she completed both a Residency and a Fellowship program in psychiatry at Nassau University Medical Center in New York. Dr. Sharma is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a member of American Psychiatric Association.
“I value listening and seeking to understand a patient’s concerns as the most important factor in providing quality mental health care,” says Dr. Sharma. “My goal is to help create a safe space where patients can feel comfortable discussing their feelings and symptoms and to provide them with a solid understanding about their medications so they can be confident that their treatment plan is the best fit for them.”
Fluent in both Hindi and English, Dr. Sharma enjoys a wide range of hobbies including hiking with her dog, trying different foods, and traveling. She has lived in several countries including the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Ireland, and the United States.
