At least four people have been killed in a shooting at a migrant camp near Dunkirk, according to French media.
A fifth victim was killed outside the camp, French media also reported.
Sources have told Sky News that the incident took place in Loon-Plage and police confirmed “multiple murders” were committed.
A man claiming to be the gunman handed himself to the nearby Ghyvelde police station, according to French media.
According to the refugee charity Care4Calais, refugees have been camping in the area for years.
They are mainly “Kurdish or Afghan and include many families with small children”, according to the charity.
