BELFAST — The stage at The Underground Lounge will light up with the fresh talents of four up and coming Maine-based performers on Thursday, Dec. 26 at 7 p.m. Join us for an inspiring night of live music featuring Ali Warren, Sagittarius Rising, Ashlyn Bard, and Alyssa Cohen. The Underground Lounge is excited to offer audiences the energy of these local emerging talents in a showcase featuring some promising young artists.
Originally from Nashville, Warren has spent most of her life travelling between coastal Maine and the south, with music as the perpetual center of her experience. She has a unique sound, blending elements of pop, rock, and R&B. Her silky smooth melodies, soulful rasp, and punchy lyrics set her apart from the crowd. Sagittarius Rising is twin sister duo Isabelle and Phoebe Rogers from Western Maine. Together they create uplifting, original music inspired by nature and the imagination with vocal harmonies, guitar, penny whistle, and percussion. They are also artists and award-winning filmmakers,blending their music soundtracks with artistic visuals. Nineteen year-old folk singer-songwriter and guitarist Ashlyn Bard crafts heartfelt tunes with a sound that blends tradition and originality.He writes songs as a self-therapy but also likes to share with others who may connect to them. Bard produces, mixes, and masters all of his songs from the comfort of his bedroom. He is currently attending college as an audio engineering major to focus on his craft in music production. At just 14 years old, Liberty-based singer-songwriter Alyssa Cohen has already recorded a debut album, and is working toward the imminent release of her second. Underground Lounge is Belfast’s DIY, volunteer-led community music series, known for its cozy atmosphere and commitment to showcasing a diverse range of artists. Located in the basement of the Basil Burwell Community Theatre, the lounge is an intimate, unpretentious space in which to keep local live music alive during what is traditionally Maine’s quieter season. Beverages and homemade baked goods round out the welcoming coffee shop atmosphere. All of the proceeds, after rent and expenses, go to the artists performing.
