The Bath Police Department is investigating the circumstances of a reported threat that closed RSU 1 schools on Monday.
According to officials, the Bath Police Department became aware of a third-hand report that statements had been made by an unidentified person that may have threatened school safety.
Officials believe the person responsible for those statements is a juvenile, and further information is not being provided at this time.
There is no apparent ongoing threat to school safety, police said in a Monday evening Facebook post, and schools will plan to be open on Tuesday.
“As always, we encourage people to speak up and say something if they become aware of a possible safety threat,” Chief Andrew Booth said Monday.
