A Washington County home exploded Thursday morning during a fuel delivery.
A delivery driver for VL Tammarro was filling propane tanks at a home on Milford Road in Grand Lake Stream about 10:30 a.m. when the blast happened, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
There was a malfunction that caused gas to leak and ignite, Moss said Friday morning.
It’s unclear what caused the gas to ignite.
The blast caused a fire that destroyed the home, and the delivery driver sustained second degree burns. They have been treated and released from the hospital, according to Moss.
The homeowner was there at the time of the blast, but wasn’t injured.
No additional information was released.
