Trinity Rodman seemingly did not find father Dennis Rodman’s social media apology to be genuine.
“A joke. The response alone. And the attention,” Trinity, 22, wrote via Instagram Story on Thursday, December 19, sharing a screenshot of Dennis’ comments. “Wiping my hands with it. I’m done. Thank you .”
Earlier this week, the Olympic soccer star detailed her estrangement from Dennis, 63, during an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
“He’s not a dad. Maybe by blood, but nothing else,” Trinity, who is the daughter of Dennis and ex-wife Michelle Moyer, explained during the episode. “We never really asked for anything unless we really needed it.”

She added, “I think, for him, he’s never understood the fact, because he’s never experienced it. … He’s never understood that people could actually just want to be around him and to just want to make him happy.”
By Thursday, Dennis issued a social media response directly to Trinity.
“Sorry I wasn’t the dad you wanted me to be but either way I still tried and I still try and never will stop. I will keep trying even when you’re being told as an adult not to respond to my phone calls,” the NBA legend wrote via Instagram alongside throwback family photos. “I will try even when it’s difficult and if it takes a long time. I’m always here and tell you all the time, whether it’s your voice or voicemail, how proud I am.”
Dennis continued, “I always had one wish and it was I wish my kids would call me and come see me. Hopefully, one day I can get that. I’m here and I’m still trying to pick up the phone you have my number, You see me calling, I’m still here Dennis RODMAN- Dad.”
Dennis further noted that he watches Trinity’s soccer games “all the time.”

“[I] actually flew in to watch you play and was told not to show up [because] who I was with instead and me just wanting to support you,” he claimed. “So I watched you from my hotel balcony just to make everybody happy. I love all my kids.”
In addition to Trinity, Dennis shares son DJ, 23, with Moyer and daughter Alexis, 36, with ex-wife Annie Bakes. He’s previously been candid about his parenting ups and downs.
“I think the only major demon I have right now is trying to convince myself that I’m a good dad,” Dennis told ESPN in 2020. “It’s very hard for me to try to break out of that cycle. It’s just one of those things where I never had anyone to ever do that [be a dad] for me and I think sometimes, ‘Why am I doing it for somebody else?’ Knowing that’s my child, that’s my wife or that’s my mother, that’s my sister and it’s hard for me to just gravitate to people, like, that’s close to me. It’s difficult even though inside I love them.”
