The Rockland Police Department charged four people with operating vehicles under the influence on Christmas day, including one man who allegedly stole a vehicle from a neighboring community and crashed it into a tree on Beech Street.
Jason Grigor, 41, of Rockland then allegedly fled the crash site and was found nearby with injuries, shortly after the vehicle had been reported stolen at around 4:30 p.m., the department said on Facebook.
Grigor was taken to MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital in Rockport for his injuries, police said.
Rockland police then brought Grigor to Knox County Jail on charges of operating under the influence, operating without a license, leaving the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident. He faces additional charges for the alleged theft of the vehicle in another jurisdiction.
