Nearly 5,000 households in Piscataquis County are without power on Monday afternoon.
According to Versant Power, the outages are mainly affecting the greater Milo area. Around 4,723 customers were affected as of 2:50 p.m. Monday.
The cause of the outages remains under investigation, and crews are preparing to restore power.
Central Maine Power is reporting a small cluster of outages in the Wiscasset area, as of 2:50 p.m. Around 136 customers were without power.
On Monday, the National Weather Service issued a gale warning off Maine’s coast, and wind gusts were expected to reach up to 35 miles per hour inland.
