Versant crews were busy Saturday morning restoring power to 2,629 customers in and around Hampden.
A spokesperson said she wasn’t sure of the exact cause of the outage, except that it was the result of a damaged equipment and that a conductor was down.
As of 11:30 a.m., the Versant had restored power to all but 500 customers. The utility estimated that it would restore service to the remaining affected customers by 12:30 p.m.
Versant officials issued a reminder to stay clear of downed lines or any trees that touch them, because you can’t tell if a line is energized just by looking at it.
