Homelessness is an issue everywhere in Maine. While homeless people are a very visible presence in the larger towns and cities, in the smaller towns, it is more invisible, with people living in their cars or couch surfing with friends and family.
If like me, you’ve ever wondered, what is this about, why is this happening now, and to all these people, come see the movie “Building Hope: Ending Homelessness” to get one perspective on this problem, and stay for a panel discussion, during which you can hear other perspectives. The movie will be at the First United Methodist Church of Bangor at 703 Essex St. at 3 p.m. Sunday, and it’s free.
