A tractor-trailer driver escaped injury Wednesday when highs blew his rig over in Eustis.
Vincent Dumont, 36, of Marston, Quebec, was driving an empty 2020 Western tractor-trailer east on Route 27 about 9 a.m. when he encountered “extreme wind,” the Sun Journal reported.
The wind blew over the tractor-trailer just north of the causeway on Route 27, according to a brief statement from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Wind gusts near Eustis reached 44 mph in Carrabassett Valley, 50 mph in Salem and 51 mph in Rangeley, according to observations gathered by the National Weather Service office in Gray. An estimate for the wind speed\ in Eustis wasn’t immediately available.
Dumont wasn’t hurt in the crash, the Sun Journal reported.
