A Texas man allegedly attacked his girlfriend twice in her Bangor apartment and then cut his face with a razor blade to get her arrested.
Aric Houghton, 30, of San Antonio, Texas, has been charged with domestic violence aggravated assault, obstructing the report of a crime, criminal mischief and violating his conditions of release, according to Sgt. Jason McAmbley, a spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department.
Houghton was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly assaulted the woman in her apartment, McAmbley said Thursday morning.
Then, on Wednesday, Houghton called police from her apartment, claiming she had attacked him with a razor blade, according to McAmbley.
After he was taken to the hospital, the woman told police that Houghton still had a key to her apartment, where he had entered and attacked her again. She also told officers that Houghton cut his own face with a razor blade, telling her that he was going to get her arrested for assault, according to McAmbley.
The woman was taken to a hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Houghton was arrested again Wednesday and taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where he remains.
