A Maine man was arrested late Sunday evening after reportedly breaking into a Chebeague Island home and entering the room of a 17-year-old girl.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call reporting that a man had entered the home at around 10:50 p.m. Sunday night, according to officials. Tyler Neal, 19, had reportedly entered the home through an unlocked door, and then attempted to enter the 17-year-old’s bedroom.
Officials report that Neal fled the scene once the teenager started screaming.
Neal was located on Chebeague Island by a K9, and allegedly told officers he had intended to steal items from the home.
Neal was arrested and faces a Class B burglary charge. He had been held at the Cumberland County Jail before he met bail. Neal is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 12.
