A man was arrested at a Bangor elementary school during the morning drop-off Wednesday.
Jeremy Smith, 42, of Corinth was arrested by Bangor police at Downeast Elementary School, located at 100 Moosehead Blvd., according to Sgt. Jason McAmbley, a spokesperson for the department.
It happened during the morning drop-off at the kindergarten through third-grade school, Principal Sarah Vickers said in a message to parents.
The arrest is not related to the school, and there is no threat to the school community, Vickers said. Students were in classrooms, and the school was in a secure protocol at the time.
Smith was arrested for a warrant of violation of a protection order and violation of conditions of release, McAmbley said.
