New rates for the summer camping season at Baxter State Park take effect Wednesday.
Visitors from outside of Maine will now have to pay $20 to bring a vehicle into the park, up from $16 under rates adopted in 2023. A season pass will now cost $50 instead of $42.
Maine residents can still enter the park for free.
Camping fees are also up, with a basic tent site now costing $38 instead of $34, and rates for cabins and group sites increasing similarly.
Canoe rental will remain $1 per hour or $8 for the day. A bundle of firewood will still be $5. But day use parking reservations will now be $10 instead of $5.
