The Harrison man shot by deputies during a confrontation in November has been arrested.
Arthur Lefebvre, 54, was arrested Friday morning in Portland, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
He has been charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, both felonies, the sheriff’s office said.
Lefebvre called for assistance on Nov. 13, 2024, saying he was armed and threatening to harm himself but disconnected the call before identifying himself, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said at the time.
When deputies arrived at the Hawk Ridge Road home about 1:14 p.m., Lefebvre was uncooperative and then allegedly shot at the deputies, according to the sheriff’s office.
Knowing Lefebvre had family inside the home who deputies believed to be at risk, the officers continued trying to communicate with him but weren’t successful.
Lefebvre later exited the home and allegedly confronted police with a gun before three deputies shot him, the sheriff’s office said.
Lefebvre was flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was treated for serious injuries not considered life-threatening.
The deputies who shot at Lefebvre have been identified as: Detective Nathan Therriault, Detective Tyler Monsees and Patrol Deputy Brandon Pelton.
The deputies were placed on administrative leave, as is standard procedure. The Maine attorney general’s office is investigating the shooting, as is standard procedure whenever any law enforcement in the state use deadly force.
Lefebvre is being held on $5,000 bail at the Cumberland County Jail in Portland.
