A driver allegedly caused a three-vehicle crash on Wednesday when they didn’t defrost their windshield.
The driver was traveling on Cumberland Street on Wednesday morning when they slammed into a car waiting at a red light, according to the Westbrook Police Department.
That sent the second car crashing into the rear of another vehicle, police said Friday morning.
The first driver apparently couldn’t see the vehicle ahead of them because their windshield was iced over, according to police.
No one was seriously injured.
The driver was charged with driving to endanger.
In Maine, drivers can now be fined up to $250 for not clearing off snow and ice from their vehicles. This is a reminder to exercise a little caution and patience before hitting the road during the winter.
