In the fall of 1968, I was drafted into the U.S. Army, where I spent two years as a medic. During the induction ceremony, I swore to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Members of Congress and U.S. presidents take a similar oath. Today I am astonished at the loss of honor of those who stand by while our Constitution and our great Democracy are dismantled.
