
The Maine State Police are seeking help from the public to identify the body of a woman who washed ashore near the Portland Head Light on Thursday afternoon.
The body was reported to police at about 1:26 p.m., according to the Cape Elizabeth Police Department. Police found the deceased person on the shore inside the park.
According to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss, the woman is described as a white female that is estimated to be in her early 40s.
She is approximately 5-foot-3, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was found wearing medium-sized blue Fjallraven T-shirt, Frame brand dark-washed jeans in size 28, and brown AirWair boots in size 7.

She also had a yin-yang tattoo on her left hip, surrounded by a blue tornado, a scar on her stomach from an appendectomy and a scar on the back of her head from a surgery. A surgical patch was applied to her head and was in place when her body was found.
