Actress Halle Berry will testify Friday afternoon before the Legislature’s Health and Human Services Committee.
Berry was scheduled to testify via Zoom about 2 p.m. on LD 1079, according to the Maine Senate president’s office.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. Kristen Cloutier, D-Lewiston, and Senate President Mattie Daughtery, D-Brunswick, would direct the Maine Department of Health and Human Services to work with health providers and community health organizations to educate people on the symptoms of and issues around perimenopause and menopause.
It would allocate $10,000 for that work.
Berry is a vocal advocate for women’s health.
