Russia was the ruler of the Soviet Union, which was an empire that severely restricted the freedoms and economic growth of its peoples, which included Europeans and Ukrainians.
In the 1980s, under President Ronald Reagan, American military and economic might was pivotal in breaking up the Soviet Empire, restoring freedom and economic growth to the non-Russian countries.
So, President Reagan would likely be appalled that the new American regime has allied itself with Russia and North Korea against Ukraine. (President Bush George W. Bush included North Korea in the “axis of evil.”)
The deal the American regime is apparently striking is to parcel out various parts of the free world: America gets Canada, surrenders Europe to Russia, and surrenders Taiwan and the western Pacific (which U.S. Marines fought and died to liberate) to China (mainstay of North Korea).
When the new American regime launches its announced takeover of Canada, will it expect Maine, New Hampshire and Florida soldiers to shoot Canadians who have vacationed at Old Orchard, Hampton and Palm Beaches? Or instead use the North Koreans no longer needed by Russia in Ukraine, in which case Americans better keep their heads down, because it isn’t easy to distinguish Canadians from Americans.
All sounds far-fetched, but so did everything else that’s happened in the last couple months.
President Reagan, from up where you sit, if there’s anything you can do to straighten these folks out, we the people would sure appreciate it.
