Firefighters from several towns battled a house fire early Sunday morning in Charleston.
According to Charleston Fire Chief Ethan Amero, firefighters faced difficult conditions while extinguishing the blaze, which was located in the 200 block of Charleston Road.
When they arrived at the home a little before 1 a.m., they found a working structure fire, he said.
“Crews worked very hard on this fire for over five hours, and were able to keep the fire from spreading to the garage. We also were able to pull out some personal belongings for the homeowners,” Amero said in a statement.
There was no word yet about what may have caused the fire.
